This project promotes culturally-competent school-based mental health services for refugee and immigrant youth in Albany Park, which is one of the most diverse communities in the country. The project aims to implement a consultative approach to addressing mental health within the school system. So far, in Albany Park, this project has implemented school-based teacher training, classroom consultation, individual and group psychotherapy, case management parent training, case centered behavioral consultation, and parent involvement programs. In addition to other sources, this project also receives funding from the Refugee School Impact Grant program.
