This report investigates how teachers and service providers can address the needs raised when these new students enter high schools. Though the report is based upon data collected in the United Kingdom, refugee and asylee youth encounter similar obstacles in American high schools. In both the UK and the United States, as seen within the report, children battle against barriers to inclusion, and teachers struggle to provide an inclusive education for their new students. Teachers and resettlement staff, especially ORR’s Refugee School Impact Grantees, may find this report useful in their daily work with refugee students at school.
