El Salvador: Information Gathering Mission Report from the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada is the result of a fact finding mission trip to El Salvador. The purpose of the mission was to gather information related to state efforts to combat crime; the structure of criminal gangs, their areas of operation, activities, and recruitment practices; the situation of gender-based and domestic violence against women; the situation of LGBTI people; and the efficacy of the police and judiciary to provide recourse to victims of crime, investigate and prosecute crimes. The report is broken up into two parts.
