On October 18- November 3, 2008, a delegation of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Committee on Migration traveled to Asia to visit three such groups;Burmese Rohingya refugees and Urdu-speaking displaced people in Bangladesh, and Sri Lankan Tamil refugees in India. This report was written to assess the refugees conditions and suggest durable solution that may be pursued in the effort to return to their normal live. a second, the group investigated the dire problem of human trafficking and sough to learn what progress was being made to combat it. Third, the delegation witnessed first hand the emergency relief and development work of the Catholic Church in the host countries which included project sponsored by Caritas International and Catholic Relief Services.
