This study by USCCB and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS) presents findings on the experience of the U.S. Unaccompanied Refugee Minor (URM) programs in resettling unaccompanied Eritrean youth. Based on interviews with 16 local service providers, recommendations were developed to better serve Eritrean youth both overseas and domestically. The United States is one of few countries around the globe to offer resettlement of unaccompanied minors, and LIRS and USCCB/MRS are the only domestic nonprofits that serve this population.
