This article discusses an initiative undertaken by early childhood education lecturers and their students from one university to provide an early childhood program for a group of children incarcerated on mainland Australia. The individual struggles and stresses within asylum seeker families as they experience incarceration, sometimes for a number of years, are foregrounded.
