For years, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Myanmar have been subjected to horrific human rights abuses. Although the international community has condemned the situation from afar, insufficient action has been taken to protect those in need. IDPs in Myanmar are entitled to a number of protections under international law, however the inadequate realization of these protections calls into question the role and efficacy of law in safeguarding human freedom and dignity
