This informational handbook aims to enhance the understanding between Maya parents, teachers and administrators in order to promote the educational success of these children by: Identifying concerns and obstacles faced by Maya parents and children; Suggesting pedagogical approaches to engage and include Maya students; Connecting teachers with resources such as the Maya Heritage Community Project and the National Maya Interpreter Network.
