This article explains the challenges faced by immigrant families, especially those involved with child welfare agencies, and the child welfare workers who assist them. Strategies are discussed that social workers can use to ensure that immigrant families and children receive the services necessary to stay together, reunite as soon as possible, and/or access immigration relief options.
