This handbook will refer to two types of caseworkers involved with your case: the Children Services’ caseworker (referred to as the Child Protective Specialist) and the foster care or preventative agency caseworker (referred to as case planner). The Child Protective Specialist investigates the issues that led to your child’s placement in foster care and initiates and attends Family Court hearings on your case. The case planner works with you and your family to address the safety concerns and other service needs while your child is in foster care.
