Study of Rape Victims Among the Refugees on Pulau Bidong Island: An Experience in Counselling Women Refugee “Boat People”

This survey covers the refugee population on the island of Pulau Bidong (Malaysia), during the period April to September 1982, when the author was there as a counselor-psychologist, mainly to help rape victims. Important differences were noted in the psychological effects of rape of different groups of women.
