This report emphasizes the importance of parental involvement in an ELL child’s education. According to the report, the more that a parent is involved in their child’s education then the more likely that ELL student will engage in learning and become motivated to do their best in school. The report also addresses how newcomer parents engage in their child’s education in ways that the schools or outside culture do not see or understand. Service providers working with ELL children will find this report helpful in discovering of ways to involve parents more in their child’s learning.
