This brief article describes the Unaccompanied Refugee Minor (URM) program in the United States. This article provides a history of the program, which has experienced important changes since it was created 30 years ago. Now the URM program is a part of the International Foster Care Program and will continue to serve children from all over the world and from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances.
