This report is based on a telephone survey of over a thousand foreign-born adults. This report helps readers understand what brings people to the U.S. and what they think about the nation once they get here. It takes a close look at particular ethnic groups that are often overlooked, including Middle Easterners, South and East Asians, and Central and South Americans. The study found that overall, immigrants are quite satisfied with life in the U.S. for themselves and their children. They rate the U.S. as an improvement over their birthplace in almost all dimensions, and most say they expect their children to remain in this country.
