This study evaluates the process of refugee resettlement in New Hampshire through interviewing 76 refugees and 26 other members of local communities. Most refugees found the resettlement process stressful with limited federal assistance, workplace discrimination, and racism in the schools. Other refugees mentioned that America offered a better place to raise their children, but most refugees used relatively few resources like the federally-supported Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program.
