Addresses three questions surrounding torture victims using structured interviews with 526 tortured and 526 non-tortured Bhutanese refugees: (1) does reporting torture correlate with demographics?; (2) what psychiatric disorders are likely sequelae of torture among a refugee population?; and (3) what are the demographic correlates of disorder among the Bhutanese tortured refugees? Results yielded data that indicates men are more likely to report torture than women, yet women were more likely to report certain disorders.
