Discusses how teachers can best support refugee students in English Language Learner (ELL) classrooms. Refugees face numerous challenges including limited formal education, lack of proper documentation, parental involvement, and resettlement issues. Among the steps that have been established to support the refugee students’ integration are learning about cultures, assisting with resource locations, meeting with the families, integrating students into the classroom, and using age-appropriate materials.
