The story of Kia Vang, a twelve-year-old Hmong girl from Laos, whose nickname is “Little Cricket,” and her family’s flight through Thailand to the United States. She and her grandfather work hard to raise money to bring the rest of their family to join them. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
