This report discusses the significant population changes in the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area, focusing on foreign born individuals, their children, and their impact on regional education. This increasing diversity in the region impacts: legal and cultural issues, school and public service collaboration, teacher career development and training, and policy and funding decisions. More research is needed on best practices and strategies to maximize educational opportunities and outcomes for New American students.
