Provides information about the arts and culture of the Hmong population now living in the United States in an effort to enhance cross-cultural understanding between Hmong and non-Hmong people. The Hmong Cultural and Resource Center of Minnesota is the primary Hmong and Asian American organization in the Minneapolis-St Paul area offering community outreach activities, with a focus on cultural education. The Resource Center contains one of the most comprehensive collections of Hmong-related literature, scholarly research, and multimedia materials in North America. Its Website also offers access to: (1) information about and video clips of musical, funeral, and wedding songs performed by Hmong musicians; (2) explanations of the history and significance of Hmong musical instruments; (3) background on the variety of Hmong ceremonial arts; (4) descriptions and meanings of Hmong folk tales; (5) information about the history of Hmong tapestry making, the significance of design and pattern, and the purposes for which tapestries are used; and (6) a photo essay of Hmong life in the U.S.
