Provides cultural education and resources to promote the personal development of Hmong children, youth, and adults in the United States and to enhance cross-cultural understanding between Hmong and non-Hmong people. The Hmong Cultural and Resource Center of Minnesota is the primary Hmong and Asian American organization in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area offering community outreach activities, with the goal of promoting positive relations among the diverse populations living in the Twin Cities area. The Resource Center contains one of the most comprehensive collections of Hmong-related literature, scholarly research, and multimedia materials in North America. The Center’s Website provides access to: (1) Hmong-related newsletters, journals, and books as well as the Center’s annual reports; (2) information about the Center’s supporters, community partners, board of directors, and staff; (3) details about Center programs; (4) the curriculum for presentations on topics related to Hmong history and information about engaging speakers; (5) Hmong human rights and race relation resources as well as education resources and lesson plans; (6) citizenship and refugee resettlement information; (7) articles and related information about the experiences of Hmong living in Minnesota and the U.S.; and (8) an online gallery of Hmong art and artifacts.
