Provides links to the members of the Refugee Council USA, a coalition of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) that advocates for the protection and rights of refugees and displaced persons in the United States and throughout the world. The Council also assists national refugee resettlement agencies in formulating common positions and in working with the U.S. government and other partners. Members of the Council are Amnesty International, Center for Victims of Torture, Church World Service, Episcopal Migration Ministries, Ethiopian Community Development Council, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, Immigration and Refugee Services of America, International Refugee Research Institute, International Catholic Migration Commission, Jesuit Refugee Service, Kurdish Human Rights Watch, Lawyers Committee for Human Rights, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Migration and Refugee Services/U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Southeast Asia Resource Action Center, U.S. Committee for Refugees, Women’s Commission for Refugee Women and Children, and World Relief. In addition to the links to these NGOs, the site contains recent documents of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as well as current recommendations by the Refugee Council USA pertaining to the U.S. government’s refugee admissions program.
