Summarizes a preliminary cross-service training session at a pilot site of Bridging Refugee Youth and Children’s Services (BRYCS) in St. Louis, Missouri. Conducted at the Casey Family to Family site, the training involved representatives from child protective services, family courts, and adoption and foster care programs. Participants received information about refugee populations, the challenges and benefits of multi-service coordination, and the training, recruitment, and licensing associated with foster care placements. Those participants who were involved in foster care programs recognized the need to develop more connections to local refugee communities, and they had concerns about effective recruitment strategies, data tracking, staff training, foster care parent training and licensing, and caseloads. Also includes feedback on the training session from the Children Services Director in St. Louis’ Division of Family Services and from a representative of Lutheran Community Services; tallied responses from participants’ evaluation of the training; the agenda for the training session; and a list of materials distributed to participants.
