Summarizes the work of World Relief, the humanitarian arm of the National Association of Evangelicals. World Relief and its partner churches collaborate on programs that address poverty, disease, hunger, persecution, and the effects of war and disasters. Among the programs are: church-based health care, including childhood immunizations, disease prevention, and AIDS education and counseling; income generation through community banking; agricultural assistance, including crop diversification; assistance to inner-city families facing poverty and violence; religious instruction; refugee care and immigrant assistance; and emergency and disaster relief. World Relief also supports churches and church groups seeking to work to alleviate hunger, poverty, and other suffering by providing educational materials, consultation services, and action bulletins. World Relief’s Web site offers (1) information about the organization’s work in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Eurasia, and the United States; (2) feature articles on topics relevant to World Relief’s work as well as press releases, technical briefings, and situation reports; and (3) instructions on how to volunteer or donate in support of World Relief’s efforts.
