Our school district has been having an issue with truancy and low gradation rates among immigrant youth. Because bussing is only provided to students that live more than 2 miles from school, we know that transportation is a major issue. We are interested in hearing what other school districts or organizations have done regarding transportation to school and OST activities. Thank you!

Our program has reached out to surrounding churches and community organizations to see if they have any volunteers who would be interested in driving or walking the students to school, especially in the colder months. One church even has it's own school bus for out of school programming!
