This report includes new, independent analysis of U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data. It is estimated that more than 100,000 children have been affected by LPR parental deportation between 1997 and 2007, and that at least 88,000 of impacted children were U.S. citizens. This report analyzes the effects of deportation on a child’s health, education and social development, and offers recommendations for improvement.
