Lessons Learned: Best Practices with Immigrant and Refugee Families, Children and Youth is a special presentation created for BRYCS by Dr. Ilze Earner, founder and director of the Immigrants and Child Welfare Project and professor, Hunter College School of Social Work. This PowerPoint presentation provides an overview of current trends and examples of effective models drawn from the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) Child Welfare journal’s recently published special issue on immigrants and refugees, co-edited by Dr. Earner. The presentation introduced the BRYCS-USCCB/MRS Discussion, “Brighter Futures for Migrating Children: An Overview of Current Trends and Promising Practices in Child Welfare”, held at the Child Welfare League of America National Conference, Washington, DC on February 27, 2006.
